When to convert Excel to PDF

Page layout and print area

Formulas and what doesn't carry over

Very wide spreadsheets

A sheet with far more columns than fit on one printed page gets scaled down to fit, which can make small text hard to read once printed. For genuinely wide data, consider switching the page orientation to landscape in Excel's print settings, or splitting the export by column range, before converting to PDF.
